About Paws For Literacy

We started as a therapy team in 2015. Callie enjoys easing anxiety and bringing smiles to the faces of nursing home residents, hospital patients and their families, and children in a variety of different settings.

The benefits of pet therapy continue to amaze me. As a middle school teacher, I have been especially impressed with the benefits of canine-assisted reading. I have decided to welcome my second pet therapy dog Bailey to our family with the intention of raising and training her to be a canine literacy specialist for the children of Charleston County.
